Preparation steps

1.

For the crust, mix flour, cocoa, salt and sugar and make a well in the center. Beat egg and pour into well in flour. Cut butter into small pieces and sprinkle into flour. Rapidly knead mixture into a smooth dough and form into a ball. Wrap dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate about 30 minutes.

2.

For the filling, chop chocolate and melt over a hot water bath. Remove chocolate from heat and let cool.

3.

Separate eggs and beat yolks with quark, cream cheese, sugar, pudding mix and melted chocolate. Beat egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff and fold into chocolate mixture.

4.

Preheat oven to 180°C (approximately 350°F).

5.

Grease a springform pan. Flatten dough to form crust on bottom and slighty up sides of pan. Spread filling over crust, smooth top and bake until cheesecake tests done with a toothpick, 60-80 minutes.

6.

Remove cheesecake from oven and cool slightly before removing pan to cool completely. Form Easter egg decorations from colored marzipan as desired and attach to cheesecake with dabs of melted chocolate. Cut cheesecake into pieces to serve.
