Fruit Plate
Healthy, because
Even smarter
This is where fresh fruit is put on the fruit platter and a lot of secondary plant substances: strawberries contain ferulic and ellagic acid, which have a cancer-preventive effect. Grapefruit is rich in beta-carotene, which neutralises free radicals and thus protects our body cells, while kiwi contains lutein, which benefits our eyes.
Other pieces of fruit can enhance muesli and Co. the following day. But beware: if you mix fresh kiwis with milk and dairy products, they become bitter and thick. This unpleasant effect is caused by the protein-splitting enzyme actinidine in the kiwi. This also applies to pineapple and papaya, which contain the enzymes bromelain and papain respectively.
