3 Tbsps vegetable oil
2 Tbsps Tomato paste
2 Tbsps ground paprika (hot)
1 tsp ground Caraway
250 milliliters dry Red wine
400 milliliters Beef broth
2 red Bell pepper

Preparation steps

Peel onions and dice. Heat oil in a saucepan and brown meat on all sides, add onions and saute briefly. Add tomato paste, paprika and cumin powder. Deglaze pan with red wine. Add broth and simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 1.5 hours on low heat. Rinse and dry chile peppers, halve and remove seeds, chop coarsely. Add to goulash and cook for about 30 minutes more or until meat is tender. If necessary, add extra broth.

Season with salt and pepper and place into bowls. Top with dollops of sour cream and serve.
