1 white onion
1 Tbsp sunflower oil (cold pressed)
350 grams Ground beef
salt
freshly ground peppers
freshly grated Nutmeg
1 can Kidney beans (800 grams)
1 sm jar peeled Tomatoes (450 grams)
1 large red Bell pepper
1 large yellow Bell pepper
850 milliliters Beef stock
1 Tbsp Tomato paste
2 tsps Chili powder
2 Tbsps fresh parsley (finely chopped)

Preparation steps

Rinse the bell peppers, cut in half, remove seeds and stems and cut the flesh into pieces. Peel the onion, chop finely and fry briefly in hot oil in a pot. Add the bell pepper pieces and cook 2-3 minutes while stirring.

Add the ground beef and fry over medium heat for 5-6 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Add peeled tomatoes and use two forks to tear apart the tomatoes in the pot.

Pour in broth and bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer, covered for 5 minutes. Pour beans through a sieve and rinse under cold water, then add to the pot and cook for 5 minutes.

Season with chili powder, tomato paste, nutmeg, salt and pepper and simmer for another 1-2 minutes. Mix in parsley. Serve in soup bowls with white bread, if desired.
