Preparation steps

1.

Clean the mushrooms, and trim approximately 1/2 inch from the stem end. Trim any bad spots on the mushrooms as well. Gently wipe the mushrooms with a dry cloth and slice into approximately 1/4 inch thick slices.

Preheat the oven to 125°F. Place a wire rack on a baking sheet and spread the mushrooms over it. Place the mushrooms in the oven.

3.

Crack the oven door using a wooden spoon, and dry the mushrooms for about 3 hours. The mushrooms should be completely dry and very firm. Cool completely and store tightly sealed.
