Preparation steps

1.

Set the oven to broil.

2.

Peel garlic and chop finely. Rinse the herbs, shake dry, pluck leaves and chop finely. Mix the ground lamb with the herbs, garlic, egg and breadcrumbs. Season with salt, lemon zest and pepper and form the mixture into 12 small burger patties. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

3.

Rinse the peppers, cut in half, remove the seeds and cut into strips. Set the burgers on a plate and season with salt and pepper. Drizzle with little oil, then brush with the remaining oil. Brown under the broiler 3-4 minutes, watching carefully, then turn the burgers and cook for another 3-4 minutes, until desired internal temperature. Roast the pepper strips as well.

4.

Peel the onions and cut into rings. Rinse the lettuce, shake dry and separate leaves.

5.

Cut the bread horizontally and place under broiler, cut sides up; toast as desired, watching carefully. Place the lettuce on the bottom bun, then add the burger, then peppers and onions.  Finish with top bun.
