- 4 ripe Tomatoes
- 2 garlic cloves
- 8 slices Whole-grain baguette
- salt
- coarsely ground peppers
- 2 Tbsps olive oil

Preparation steps
Rinse tomatoes, pat dry and cut in half. Peel the garlic and cut in half.
Toast the bread slices until golden brown on both sides in a dry grill pan (or under a heated broiler).
Let bread slices cool slightly, then rub with the cut garlic. (If you like, cut the garlic into thin slices and reserve for garnish.)
Top bread with tomato halves, squeezing out pulp (or scooping with a spoon) so bread can soak up juices.
Season toasts with salt and pepper. Drizzle with olive oil, garnish with sliced garlic (if desired) and serve.
