This meatloaf recipe tastes virtually identical to the traditional variety, but is much healthier.
If you want this to be leaner, you can use ground turkey instead of beef.

- 3 cups lean Ground beef
- 1 onion (finely chopped)
- 1 garlic clove (finely chopped)
- 1 Tbsp Red wine vinegar
- 1 Tbsp tomato puree
- 1 ½ cups fresh, white breadcrumbs
- 1 tsp salt

Normal Cooking: Mix all the ingredients together until well combined. Pack firmly into a greased loaf tin and cover with foil. Bake for about 1 hour at 350F until cooked through.

Preparation steps

Preheat the slow cooker if necessary – see manufacturer’s instructions. Grease a baking dish or tin that will fit comfortably in the slow cooker pot.

Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry the meat and onion over high heat until browned.
3.
Add the rest of the ingredients and stir well.
4.
Spoon the mixture into the baking dish or tin and place in the slow cooker pot. Pour boiling water into the pot so that it comes halfway up the sides of the baking dish.
5.
Cover and cook on high for 5-6 hours until the meat loaf is cooked through.

Serve hot, warm or cold.
