- 2 Tbsps Oil
- 3 cups Sirloin steak (thinly sliced)
- 1 onion (finely chopped)
- 1 garlic clove (finely chopped)
- 1 ½ cups white Long grain rice
- 3 cups vegetable stock
- 1 tsp salt
- 4 firm, ripe Tomatoes (diced)
- 1 Lime (finely grated zest and juice)
- To garnish
- 3 sprigs marjoram

Normal Cooking: Follow the recipe from step 2 to the end of step 5, transferring the mixture to a pan. Bring to a boil. cover and simmer for about 15 minutes until the rice is cooked. Leave to stand for 5 minutes. Continue as for step 7.
Preparation steps

Preheat the slow cooker if necessary – see manufacturer’s instructions.

Heat the oil in a frying pan (skillet) and brown the steak pieces for a few minutes. Remove from the pan and set aside.

Add the onion and garlic to the pan and cook for about 5 minutes until softened.

Stir in the rice, stock and salt and bring to a boil, stirring.

Stir in the steak and tomatoes and transfer the mixture to the slow cooker pot.
6.
Cover and cook on low for 1-1 1/2 hours until the rice is tender.
7.
Put into a serving bowl and fluff up with a fork. Add the lime zest and juice and garnish with marjoram.
