200 grams Pastry flour
Baking powder
50 grams butter
1 Tbsp sugar
1 packet Vanilla sugar
1 pinch salt
1 medium egg
2 Tbsps Rum
Frying oil
For the glaze
2 Tbsps honey
Juice (from 1/2 orange)
4 Tbsps hulled Sesame seeds

Preparation steps

Mix flour with baking powder. Add butter, sugar, vanilla sugar, salt, egg and rum and knead everything quickly into a smooth dough. Wrap dough in foil and place for 1 hour in the refrigerator.

Roll out dough on floured surface. Cut dough into approximately 7 cm wide and 1.5 cm long (approximately 3-inch by 1-inch) strips. Roll briefly with a rolling pin. Heat frying oil to 170°C (approximately 350°F). Fry dough in portions and place on a cooling rack.

3.

For the glaze, mix honey with orange juice and brush over hot dough. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve.
