Preparation steps

1.

Cut the meat coarsely, then mince in the food processor along with the peeled shallots, ham, pineapple, parsley, egg, cornstarch and spices. Form the mixture into small balls.

2.

Place the breadcrumbs in a deep dish and roll meatballs in the breadcrumbs.

3.

For the sauce, rinse peppers, cut in half, remove seeds and inner ribs, and cut into large cubes.

4.

Heat the oil in a large, deep frying pan.  Fry the meatballs  until cooked through, drain and keep warm.

5.

Rinse chile, cut lengthwise, remove the seeds and ribs, chop finely and pan-fry. Add bell peppers and cook about 1 minute while stirring and deglaze with broth. Stir in the honey and season the sauce with salt and a little cinnamon and cook the peppers until al dente. Finally, add the meatballs and the candied ginger to the sauce and heat.

6.

Serve with cooked rice.
