- For the pastry
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 pinch salt
- ½ cup butter
- 1 egg (beaten)
- water
- For the filling
- 6 sweet Apple (sliced)
- lemon juice
- 3 cups Blackberry
- 1 pinch cinnamon
- 1 tsp grated lemon zest
- 6 Tbsps sugar
- To finish
- 1 egg (beaten)
Preparation steps

For the pastry: sift the flour into a mixing bowl and stir in the salt. Rub in the butter until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Gradually add the egg, mixing continuously until the mixture just comes together as a dough. You may need to add a little water). Roll the dough into a ball, then wrap in cling film and chill for 30 minutes.

Heat the oven to 180°C (160° fan) 350°F gas 4. Grease a baking tray.

For the filling: toss the appes with the lemon juice. Stir in the blackberries, cinnamon, lemon zest and sugar.

Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a large circle. Put onto the baking tray.

Put the apple and blackberry mixture into the centre of the dough, leaving a 5 cm|2"margin.
6.
Carefully fold in the edges, leaving the filling exposed.
7.
Brush with beaten egg and bake for 35-40 minutes until the fruit is tender and the pastry is golden.
