Nutritional values

Sometimes you have to spoil your loved ones! Fresh strawberries not only look good, they also provide plenty of vitamin C. Great for our immune system. The little ones have anthocyanins in their tops. These natural plant dyes bind harmful free radicals and thus protect our cells from damage.

You can also garnish the tartlets with chopped pistachio kernels, which contain heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids that the body needs but cannot produce itself.

Preparation steps

1.

Preheat the oven to 200°C (approximately 400°F).

2.

Spread out the puff pastry spread and cut out 12 heart shapes. Place on a lined baking sheet and brush with the melted butter. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Bake for about 20 minutes. Remove from the oven and the baking sheet and let cool.

3.

Cut the vanilla bean lengthwise and boil the milk in a saucepan. Remove from the heat and leave for about 10 minutes. Strain through a sieve.

4.

Beat the yolks with the sugar in a bowl until creamy. Add the cornstarch and stir into the warm milk. Return everything back to the pot and let thicken over low heat, stirring constantly. Allow to cool, stirring occasionally.

5.

Place the puff pastry heart shapes on the work surface. Make a slight impression and fill it with the cream. Rinse the strawberries, pat dry, remove the leaves and cut in half. Arrange on the pastries. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve garnished with mint.
