Ingredients
- For the choux
- 50 grams butter
- ½ tsp salt
- 150 grams Pastry flour
- 4 eggs
- 1 generous pinch Baking powder
Preparation steps
Step 1
In a saucepan, boil 250 ml (approximately 8 ounces) of water with the butter and salt.
Step 2
Add the flour to the saucepan and stir vigorously over low heat.
Step 3
Keep stirring until the mass becomes a lump on the bottom and then turn off the heat.
Step 4
Mix the dough on in the pot until smooth and then move to a bowl.
Step 5
Add 1 egg, stir the dough immediately until smooth, let it cool slightly, then stir in the remaining eggs one at a time into the warm dough. Finally, mix in the baking powder.
Preheat the oven to 200°C (approximately 400°F).
Step 6
On a parchment-lined baking sheet, place dough balls in the size of two tablespoons each. Leave enough space between each dough ball for them to rise.
Step 7
Bake the cream puffs until golden brown for about 25 minutes. Open the oven in the first 15 minutes and leave the door open, otherwise everything will collapse.
Step 8
Remove from the oven and immediately cut in half horizontally.
Step 9
Cool on a wire rack and fill with desired filling. Serve and enjoy!
