800 grams Ground beef
1 onion
2 Tbsps chopped fresh parsley
salt
freshly ground peppers
vegetable oil (for sauteeing)
4 whole wheat Baguette (each about 15-20 cm)
6 large Lettuce
Mayonnaise
½ Cucumber
4 carrots
1 Tbsp finely chopped Basil
½ lemon (juice)
sugar
olive oil

Preparation steps

Peel onion, finely chop, sauté in a little oil, mix with the ground meat, season with salt, parsley and pepper and knead well. Then shape mixture into 2 cm thick patties. Heat oil in a heavy pan and cook the hamburgers3-4 minutes per side.

Peel and grate the carrots. Mix with basil, lemon juice, salt, pepper, ½ teaspoon sugar, 2 tablespoons olive oil and 3 tablespoons water. Rinse the cucumber and sthinly slice. Rinse the lettuce leaves, spin dry and cut into thin strips.

Cut the baguette pieces in half lengthwise and toast, cut sides up under the broiler. Spread one half of each with 1-2 tablespoons mayonnaise, sprinkle with lettuce, top with a burger, cucumber and carrot salad. Top with the remaining half of the bread. Serve immediately with salad, if desired.
