Ingredients
- For the filling
- 1 kilogram Apple
- 1 lemon (juice)
- 1 tsp Ground cinnamon
- 2 Tbsps Vanilla sugar
- 60 grams slivered almonds
- 20 grams softened butter
- 3 Tbsps Maple syrup (or honey)
- For the dough
- 2 tsps Baking powder
- 100 grams ground almonds
- 400 grams Pastry flour
- 150 milliliters milk
Preparation steps
Grease the baking sheet with butter and sprinkle with flour.
For the dough: Mix the butter until light and creamy. Alternately stir in the sugar and the egg and then add the salt and cinnamon. Mix the flour with the baking powder and almonds and gradually stir in milk. Knead quickly into a smooth dough. Spread on the baking sheet and smooth.
Preheat the oven to 180°C (approximately 350°F).
For the topping: Peel the apples, quarter, core and cut into slices. Mix with lemon juice, cinnamon and vanilla sugar and spread evenly over the dough. Press down gently and sprinkle with slivered almonds small pieces of butter and 1 tablespoon maple syrup. Bake in preheated oven until golden brown, about 50 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool.
Before serving, sprinkle with the remaining syrup and cut into pieces.
