What gives blackberries their dark color are dark red plant pigments, which also have it in health: They have an antibacterial effect and soothe inflammation. Wholemeal flour adds lots of satiating fiber to the sweet casserole.

If you want to vary, you can also use other types of berries instead of bromine and replace the cashew puree with almond puree, for example. A scoop of homemade Vegan Cashew Nice Cream goes really well and rounds off the fine fruit flavor.

2 Tbsps honey
½ Vanilla bean
7 ¼ ozs Whole Grain Spelt Flour
1 ¾ ozs coconut sugar
2 Tbsps cocoa powder
2 ¾ ozs butter
1 Tbsp cashew butter
1 pinch Ground cinnamon
1 pinch salt

Preparation steps

1.

Wash the berries, place in a baking dish and drizzle with honey. Cut the vanilla pod in half lengthwise and scrape out the vanilla pulp with a knife.

2.

Mix flour, coconut blossom sugar, cocoa powder, butter, cashew butter, vanilla pulp, cinnamon and salt into crumbles. Pour the crumble over the berries and press down lightly.

3.

Bake in a preheated oven at 200 °C / 400 ˚F for about 20-25 minutes and serve while still warm.
