- 1 ¼ cups yellow Lentils (rinsed)
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 Tbsps butter
- 1 onion (chopped)
- 1 carrot (sliced)
- 1 stick Celery (chopped)
- 2 cloves garlic cloves (crushed)
- 2 tsps Garam Masala
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Chili powder
- 4 Chicken breasts (skinned and cut into bite size pieces)
- 1 cup canned Tomatoes (chopped)
- salt
- freshly ground peppers
- To serve
- Baby spinach
- cooked Whole Wheat Noodles

1 Pot, 1 Skillet, 1 Measuring cups, 1 Cutting board, 1 Large knife, 1 Small knife, 1 Tablespoon, 1 Wooden spoon, 1 Peeler, 1 Sieve, 1 Immersion blender
Preparation steps

Put the lentils in a pan with 1 l of water and the salt. Bring to a boil, then cover and simmer for 30 minutes until the lentils are tender and have absorbed most of the water.

Melt the butter in a large pan, add the onion, carrot, celery and garlic and cook for 3 minutes. Stir in the garam masala, turmeric and chilli powder to coat the vegetables then add the chicken and fry for 5 minutes.

Add the tomatoes and cooked lentils and a little more water if necessary. Cover and simmer gently for 15 minutes until the chicken is tender. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

Serve with spinach leaves and wholewheat noodles.
