Preparation steps

1.

Toast oats in the butter (reserving a little butter for the baking pan) in a skillet for about 3 minutes over medium heat. Remove from heat and let cool. Whisk the egg with sugar, vanilla sugar, salt and cinnamon until fluffy and stir in peanut butter, flour, toasted oats and peanuts.

2.

Grease a (18 x 18 cm/approximately 7 x 7 inches) with the remaining butter. Add the dough and flatten smooth.

3.

Bake on middle rack in a preheated oven 200°C (approximately 400°F) until golden brown, about 12 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool.

4.

Then top with maple syrup and cut about 3 cm (approximately 1-inch) wide strips, then cut in the other direction into 5 rows across.

5.

Crush chocolate coarsely and melt over a hot water bath. Dip cookies into the chocolate and let dry on a wire rack. Using a small piping bag, decorate the bars with chocolate lines and sprinkle with granulated sugar.
