Nutritional values
Cranberries from North America are known in Germany as "Superfood"; and not without good reason! The so-called oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPC) have a strong antioxidant effect and have been proven to protect against cell damage caused by free radicals. In addition, the OPCs themselves are said to activate vitamin C and increase its antioxidative effect as well as prolong the activity of vitamins A and E.
Raw cranberries taste extremely sour and are rather inedible. So without added sugar it does not work.
