Dried Cinnamon Apple Slices

Nutritional values
Dried apple slices with cinnamon are a healthy alternative to conventional sweets, as they make do with the natural fruit sweetness. The minerals from the apple are hardly affected by the drying process, and so iron, potassium and plenty of dietary fiber are present in concentrated form in the nibbles. The latter get the intestines going and balance a fluctuating blood sugar level.
Dried apple slices with cinnamon should be sealed airtight after cooling and consumed within about five days.

Ingredients
Preparation steps
Clean apples, wash and pat dry. Quarter apples, core and slice or cut into fine slices.
Place apple slices on 2 baking sheets lined with baking paper, mix with cinnamon and dry in a preheated oven at 80 °C / 150˚ F convection oven for approx. 4 hours, keeping the oven door slightly open with a wooden spoon so that the moisture can escape from the oven. Remove the finished apple chips from the oven and allow to cool.
