- Ingredients
- 3 Tbsps Ghee (or butter)
- 250 grams Whole wheat flour
- 250 grams Roti flour (or wheat flour type 405)
- 125 milliliters water
- ½ tsp Sea salt
- 2 Tbsps Ghee
- Ghee (for cooking)
Preparation steps
1.
Melt the ghee. Sift the flours into a large bowl and make a well in the middle. Add the sea salt, water and 3 tablespoons of melted ghee to the well and knead to form a smooth dough. If the dough is too stiff, add an additional 1-2 tablespoons of water. Cover with a kitchen towel and let rest in a warm place for about 1 hour.
Divide the dough into 6-8 balls. Roll out each ball into a thin circle with a rolling pin on a floured surface. Lay out all the circles side by side. Brush each circle with some of the remaining 2 tablespoons of melted ghee.
2.
Heat some ghee in a skillet and cook the flatbreads for 2-3 minutes until lightly browned. Serve warm.
