Preparation steps

Rinse the limes and pat dry. Cut into slices, then add to a bowl with the herbs. Bring the sugar and 1 liter (approximately 1 quart) of water to a boil, and cook for 2-3 minutes. Pour over the lime slices and let cool. Cover, and let infuse in a cool place for 48 hours. Pour the syrup through a fine strainer lined with cheesecloth into a pot. Bring to a boil, and pour into clean bottles. Seal tightly and cool completely.
