Preparation steps

1.

Cut the pumpkin in half, remove the seeds and cube. Peel and cube the potatoes. Cook the pumpkin and potatoes in a pot of boiling salted water until knife-tender, about 20 minutes. Drain, return to the pot and allow to steam to remove excess moisture. Bring the cream, butter, salt, pepper and nutmeg to a boil in another pot.

Pour the cream mixture over the potatoes and mash until smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

3.

Serve with roasted duck breast if desired.
