- For the pies
- 3 stale White rolls
- 300 milliliters milk
- 1 pinch salt
- ½ lemon
- 40 grams sugar
- 2 eggs
- 3 Apple
- 1 Tbsp butter
- butter (for greasing)
- 100 grams chopped almonds
- For the caramel sauce
- 80 grams sugar
- 120 milliliters Whipped cream
Preparation steps
1.
Preheat oven to 180°C (approximately 350°F).

For the pies: Grease 8 molds with butter. Thinly slice rolls and place in a bowl. Combine milk, salt, lemon zest, sugar and eggs. Pour about 2/3 of the mixture over the rolls, let soak.

Peel and dice apples. Mix soaked rolls with apples and fill in buttered molds. Pour remaining batter on top and add almonds and butter. Bake until golden brown, about 20 minutes.

For the sauce: Caramelize sugar in a saucepan until golden. Deglaze with cream and allow to simmer to reach desired consistency, add water if needed. Let cool, stirring occasionally until lukewarm. Remove mini pies from oven, release from molds nad serve drizzled with sauce.
