Preparation steps

1.
Divide ground beef into 4 portions. Shape each portion into thick patty. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until grill is ready.
2.
Prepare grill for direct grilling and preheat to high heat.
3.
When ready to cook, brush the grill grate with oil.
4.
Place hamburgers on the hot grill and season once again with salt and pepper. Grill burgers for 5 to 7 minutes per side, or until cooked through. If using an instant read thermometer, insert the thermometer through the side into the center of the burger. The internal temperature should be at least 160ºF for medium.
5.
Brush the cut side of the buns with melted butter and grill for 30 to 45 seconds or until golden.
6.
Assemble the burgers: Place a burger on the bottom half of each bun, top with mustard, ketchup, pickles, fried onion rings, and any additional condiments of your choosing.
7.
Serve immediately with lettuce, radishes and French fries.
