Preparation steps

Rinse the oranges and limes in hot water. Remove the stalk from the oranges and thinly slice on a mandoline. Remove the seeds, and coarsely chop the orange slices. Finely grate the zest from the lime. Cut the lime in half and squeeze the juice. Add the lime juice, lime zest, and 500 ml (approximately 17 ounces) of water to the oranges. Cover and let marinate for four hours.

Weigh 1 kg (approximately 35 ounces) of the orange mixture, and bring to a boil in a saucepan. Remove from the heat and let steep for 15 minutes. Mix the jam sugar into the mixture, and bring to a boil again. Cook for 5 minutes, then add the orange oil. Fill the prepared jars to the brim with the jam. Seal tightly, turn upside down, and cool completely.
