Preparation steps

1.

Peel onion and chop finely. Rinse bell pepper and halve, remove seeds and ribs and dice. Rinse and dry apples, core and dice into 1 cm (approximately 1/2 inch) cubes. Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a pan and saute onion and garlic until soft. Add bell pepper and apples and saute for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Season with lemon juice, salt, pepper and cayenne pepper. Add basil and lemon balm leaves and mix well. Place salsa into a bowl and let cool.

2.

Rinse and pat dry pork chops. Season with pepper. Heat 4 tablespoons of oil in a pan and cook chops until browned on both sides for about 8-10 minutes. Drain oil from the pan, add 1 tablespoon of butter and cook chops for about 2 minutes more. Season with salt and arrange on warmed plates. Serve with warm salsa.
