Peel potatoes, rinse and cook for about 30 minutes in boiling salted water.

Meanwhile, rinse the bell peppers, cut in half, remove seeds and white ribs and dice into small cubes. Sauté in a pan with 2 tablespoons oil and remove from pan. Drain on paper towels.

Drain potatoes, let moisture evaporate, mash with a potato masher and mash along with the butter and the milk to a smooth puree. Stir in the red peppers, mix well and season with salt, pepper and nutmeg.
