Ingredients

For the sausages
12 small grilled sausages
4 onions
2 Tbsps clarified butter
1 tsp Pastry flour
250 milliliters Gravy (from a jar)
For the mashed potatoes
1 kilogram starchy potatoes
salt
250 milliliters milk
1 Tbsp butter
1 garlic clove
thyme (fresh)
1 scallion (finely chopped)
1 Tbsp olive oil
peppers
freshly grated Nutmeg

Preparation steps

1.

For the mashed potatoes: Peel potatoes and cook until tender in salted water on medium heat for about 20-30 minutes. Drain. Heat milk with butter.

For the sausages; Peel onions and cut into thin rings. Heat butter in a pan and cook sausages on all sides, remove from the pan. Saute onions in the same pan for about 5 minutes, stirring. Dust with flour, add stock and bring to a boil, stirring, Return sausages to the pan and keep warm.

3.

Mash potatoes with a potato masher, add hot milk with butter. Season with salt, pepper and freshly grated nutmeg.

4.

Peel anf finely chop garlic. Heat olive oil in a pan and saute garlic and scallions for 2-3 minutes, add to mashed potatoes.

5.

Spread potatoes and sausages with onion sauce on plates. Garnish with thyme and serve.  

6.

Serve hot.
