Sesame Buns
Ingredients
- For the dough
- 450 grams Pastry flour
- ½ cube Yeast 21 grams (approximately 3/4 ounce)
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 125 milliliters lukewarm milk
- 60 milliliters vegetable oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 egg
- For topping
- 1 egg white
- Sesame seeds
Preparation steps
Dissolve the yeast and sugar in the warm milk. Add the pastry flour, salt, vegetable oil and egg to a large bowl. Pour in the milk mixture and knead with the dough hook attachment of an electric mixer until smooth. Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes.
Knead the dough a few times, cover and continue to let it rise for another 30 minutes.
Transfer the dough to a floured surface, knead a few times and divide into 10 equal portions. Shape each portion into a ball, score the tops in a star pattern, cover and let rise for 15 minutes.
Place the dough balls onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, brush with the beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake in an oven preheated to 200°C (approximately 400°F) for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.
