2 medium onions (peeled and chopped)
8 cloves garlic cloves (peeled and thinly sliced)
16 ozs ground Beef
2 ¼ cups canned, whole Tomatoes
2 ¼ cups canned, crushed Tomatoes
2 Tbsps fresh oregano (plus extra for garnish if desired)
1 bunch fresh Basil (small)
1 tsp dried thyme
freshly ground Black pepper (to taste)
Parmesan (grated or shaved for sprinkling)
16 ozs uncooked Spaghetti

Preparation steps

In a medium saucepan, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add onions and garlic. Sauté for 5 minutes or until onions are soft and translucent.

Add ground beef, breaking apart with wooden spoon, and cook until browned. Add whole tomatoes, stirring and breaking into small pieces with the back of the spoon. Add crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, thyme and ground pepper. Mix ingredients well. Cover, reduce heat and maintain a slow simmer. Simmer for 30 minutes.

While sauce is cooking, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente, 8 to 9 minutes.

Divide spaghetti and meat sauce among pasta bowls. Garnish with fresh oregano or basil and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Serve.
