1 pkg Spaghetti (500 g)
500 grams Tomatoes (canned)
1 large onion
3 garlic cloves
2 Tbsps olive oil
salt
freshly ground peppers
1 tsp sugar
freshly grated Nutmeg (1 tsp)
For the meatballs
400 grams Ground beef
3 shallots
½ tsp chili peppers
2 eggs
6 Tbsps breadcrumbs
salt
freshly ground peppers
2 Tbsps chopped parsley
6 Tbsps olive oil

Preparation steps

Peel and finely chop onion and garlic. Heat oil in a pot and sauté onion and garlic until translucent. Add tomatoes and cook, stirring, over high heat, about 10 minutes. Reduce heat and season with sugar, salt and pepper. Set aside. Add nutmeg and parsley. Prepare spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain and serve with sauce.

For the meatballs: Peel and chop shallots. In a bowl, combine ground beef, shallots, chile pepper, eggs, parsley and breadcrumbs. Season with salt and pepper and add more breadcrumbs if needed. Form small meatballs and fry in hot oil on all sides until browned. Drain on paper towels and serve with spaghetti. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.
