500 grams Tofu
3 Tbsps soy sauce
2 chili peppers (red and green)
2 shallots
1 garlic clove
1 Tbsp cornstarch
2 Tbsps Peanut oil
2 Tbsps Pine nuts
250 grams crushed Tomatoes (canned)
100 milliliters Rice wine
1 splash Lime juice
1 pinch brown sugar
salt

Preparation steps

Cut tofu into about 4 large or 8 small slices. Drizzle with soy sauce and let rest briefly.

Rinse and clean chile peppers, cut into rings. Peel shallots and cut into rings. Peel garlic and chop finely.

Drain tofu slices and sprinkle with cornstarch. Heat oil in a pan and cook tofu slices until golden brown on both sides. Remove from the pan and saute chile peppers, shallots, garlic and pine nuts for a few minutes. Add tomatoes, rice wine and some soy sauce and simmer for about 10 minutes or until slightly creamy. Return tofu to the pan and season to taste with lime juice, sugar and salt. Serve as a side dish.
