- Ingredients
- 100 grams Dark chocolate
- 125 grams softened butter
- 150 grams brown sugar
- 3 eggs
- 100 grams Pastry flour
- ½ packet Baking powder
- 300 grams Quark
- ½ tsp Bourbon vanilla
Preparation steps
1.
Preheat the oven to 200°C (approximately 400°F). Chop the chocolate and melt over a hot water bath. Set aside. Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Stir in the eggs and quark. Combine the flour, baking powder, 1 pinch of salt and the vanilla then stir into the egg mixture until just combined. Divide the batter between 2 bowls and stir the chocolate into 1 bowl.
2.
Grease a 20 cm (approximately 8-inch) square baking pan. Spoon the batter into the pan, alternating the colors, then swirl the colors together with a fork. Bake for about 30 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out almost clean. Turn out onto a baking rack and let cool completely. Cut into 5 cm (approximately 2-inch) pieces to serve.
