Preparation steps

1.

For the herb butter, rinse the herbs, shake dry and chop finely. Stir the herbs and lemon juice into the butter, and season with salt and pepper. Spread the butter mixture into about 3 cm (approximately 1¼ inch) thick roll. Wrap the butter roll in plastic wrap, further wrap in aluminum foil and twist the ends firmly. Put the butter in the refrigerator until use.

2.

Rinse, peel and cut the potatoes into slices. Mix the potato slices with about 40 ml (approximately 2¾ tablespoons) olive oil mix vigorously with salt and pepper. Spread the potatoes on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (fan: 180°C, gas mark 3) (approximately 400°F) for about 35 minutes.

3.

Heat up the grill. Rinse the beef steaks and pat dry, and brush with the remaining olive oil. Fry the beef steaks on the grill on both sides for 1-2 minutes over high heat. Pull the steaks to the side and broil for 4-6 minutes depending on the desired degree of doneness, watching carefully. Season with salt and pepper.

4.

Serve the steaks with baked potato slices and spread some herb butter over the steaks.

5.

Serve with a green salad.
