12 slices fresh white bread (or fresh brown bread)
1 cup Roquefort cheese (crumbled)
2 large, ripe Pear (peeled, cored, and sliced)
4 slices ham

Preparation steps

1.
Cut the crusts off of the bread slices. Lay 4 slices out on a counter top.
2.
Spread the crumbled Roquefort cheese onto the bread.
3.
Add a layer of pear slices dividing the pear slices evenly between the four slices, keeping 4 thin slices back for garnish. Top with another slice of bread.
4.
Add another layer of Roquefort cheese then a slice of ham to each stack. Top off with a final layer of bread.
5.
Preheat the grill and lightly toast the tops of the sandwiches, turn over carefully and toast the bottoms.
6.
When cooked and cheese begins to melt remove from under the grill. Slice each stack into small sandwiches.
7.
Garnish with a slice of pear and a little crumbled Roquefort before serving.
