- 250 grams Gruyere or Emmentaler cheese (in slices)
- 300 grams white bread
- 2 eggs
- 250 milliliters Whipped cream
- salt
- Nutmeg
- paprika
- 1 Tbsp butter
Preparation steps

Cut bread into thick slices, each about 0.5 cm (approximately 1/4 inch). In a greased baking dish, arrange bread in alternating layers with cheese.

Mix milk, eggs, salt, nutmeg, and 1/2 teaspoon pepper and whisk until smooth and pour over bread. Place small pieces of butter evenly over top.
3.
Bake in preheated oven at 200°C (approximately 400°F) for about 30 minutes.
