1 kilogram Sour cherry
1 stalk cinnamon
500 grams jam sugar (2:1 ratio)
2 centiliters Cherry brandy

Preparation steps

1.

Rinse the cherries and remove the stones. Place the cherries in a large saucepan with the sugar and the cinnamon stick. Cover and set aside for 1 hour to infuse. 

2.

Bring the cherry mixture to a boil, stirring constantly. Cook for 3 minutes. Remove any foam that rises to the surface. Mix in the kirsch, then fill the prepared jars to the brim with the jam. Seal tightly, and cool completely.

3.

Store in a cool, dark place. The cherry jam will keep several months if stored properly.
