500 grams chopped Nut (such as hazelnuts, macadamia nuts and almonds)
250 grams mixed candied Fruit (such as apricots, figs, cherries)
1 tsp cinnamon
1 generous pinch Nutmeg
1 generous pinch Mace
80 grams Pastry flour
175 grams powdered sugar
200 grams honey
3 rectangular Wafer (About 20 x 12 cm)

Preparation steps

Preheat the oven to 160°C (approximately 325°F) convection.

Chop the nuts and toast in a dry skillet until fragrant. Cool nuts and chop coarsely with the dried fruit in a blender. Add cinnamon, nutmeg, mace and flour. Place the powdered sugar with the honey in a saucepan and boil for about 3 minutes while stirring, then mix in the nut mixture. Allow to cool to a spreadable paste and spread over the wafers. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake in the oven for about 30 minutes. Remove from oven and immediately cut into pieces as desired. Let cool and serve.
