Preparation steps

1.

Peel the potatoes and cook for about 20 minutes, then drain and let steam evaporate.

2.

Rinse bell peppers, trim, cut in half, remove seeds, remove ribs and cut into narrow strips.

3.

Peel onion and dice.

4.

Drain tomatoes, reserving juice. Then halve tomatoes lengthwise.

5.

Heat clarified butter in a pan, add onions and sauté until translucent. Sprinkle with paprika while stirring, then add the bell pepper strips and sauté briefly. Stir in the reserved tomato juice and simmer about 3 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

6.

Whisk cream with the eggs, stir in half the cheese and season with salt and pepper.

7.

Cut potatoes into thick slices, about 1 cm (approximately 1/2 inch).

8.

Grease a baking dish with some of the remaining butter and layer in potatoes, tomatoes, bell peppers and sausage, adding cream-cheese mixture between layers. Season each layer with salt and pepper. Top with remaining cream-cheese mixture, sprinkle with remaining cheese, dot with butter and bake in preheated oven at 200°C (approximately 400°F) until golden brown, about 35 minutes.
