Ingredients
- Ingredients
- 5 ½ ozs almonds
- 3 ozs hazelnut kernels
- 2 ¼ ozs Cashews (4 TBSP.)
- 3 ozs dried Cranberry (sweetened with fruit juice)
- 7 ozs pithy Oats
- 1 oz Sesame seeds (2 TBSP.)
- 1 ½ ozs Sunflower seed (3 TBSP.)
- 2 egg whites
- 1 pinch salt
- 4 ½ ozs melty butter
- 2 ¾ ozs honey
Preparation steps
Coarsely chop all nuts and roast in a hot pan without fat over medium heat for 3 minutes. Then set aside and let cool. Coarsely chop the cranberries.
Mix nuts, cranberries, oat flakes, sesame seeds and sunflower seeds in a bowl. Beat egg whites with 1 pinch of salt until stiff. Add butter and honey to oatmeal-nut mixture and mix well. Fold in beaten egg whites.
Line a baking tray (approx. 8" x 12") with baking paper. Pour the mixture onto the tray, spread it into a rectangular plate (approx. 8" x 11"), and press down well. Bake the muesli plate in a preheated oven at 170 °C / 340 ˚F top and bottom heat for 15-20 minutes, making sure that the surface does not get too dark. Remove, let cool, and cut into rectangular bars with a sharp knife.
