4 ozs Mixed nuts (cashews, almonds, walnuts)
1 oz cocoa powder
9 ozs old fashioned Oats
2 Tbsps flaxseed
7 ozs Dark chocolate (at least 70% cocoa content)
3 Tbsps Hazelnut butter (or almond butter)
10 ozs apple sauce
5 tsps unsweetened Spelt flakes
1 oz puffed Amaranth
2 tsps cinnamon
½ tsp Vanilla
½ tsp ground Cardamom
1 tsp Organic orange peel

Preparation

Kitchen utensils

1 Cutting board, 1 Knife, 1 Food processor or powerful mixer, 1 Parchment paper, 1 Baking dish (about 24 x 20 cm)

Preparation steps

1.

Coarsely chop dates, nuts, cocoa powder, oat flakes and flaxseed in a food processor or a powerful mixer.

2.

Chop 3.5 ounces of chocolate and stir into the date mix together with hazelnut puree, apple sauce, spelt flakes, amaranth, and spices.

3.

Pour the mixture into a baking tin lined with baking paper and press down well. Bake in a preheated oven at 390°F for 20-25 minutes until the surface is browned. Then allow to cool in the mold.

4.

Remove the chocolate bars from the tin and baking paper, cut into 16 bars. Melt the rest of the chocolate, decorate the bar with it and let it cool down.
