Preparation steps

Place rice into a sieve and pour into a large enough steam basket. Pour about 3 cm (approximately 1 1/4 inch) of water into wok and add cloves, sliced ​​cardamom and ginger. Place steam basket on top of wok and cook rice, covered, for about 25 minutes (or according to package instructions, plus 5 more minutes).

Rinse and halve apples, core and cut into thin slices. Heat butter in a pan and saute apple slices for about 3-4 minutes or until soft. Deglaze pan with orange juice and let stand for 5 minutes.

Fluff cooked rice and add apple slices. Serve.
