- For the base
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ cup butter
- For the topping
- 1 ⅔ cups canned condensed milk
- ¼ cup butter
- 2 ½ Tbsps light corn syrup
- ½ cup chopped, roasted Peanuts
Preparation steps

For the base: heat the oven to 180°C (160° fan) 350°F gas 4. Grease a 20cm|8" square baking tin

Mix together the flour and sugar in a mixing bowl. Rub in the butter to form a dough.

Press into the tin and bake for 15-18 minutes until pale golden, then remove from the oven and leave in the tin to cool slightly.

For the topping: combine the condensed milk, butter and syrup in a heavy-based pan. Whisk continuously for about 10 minutes over a low heat, until the mixture starts to thicken and is golden brown.
5.
Remove from the heat and spread the hot mixture over the base. Sprinkle with the peanuts, then press in lightly. Leave to set before cutting into slices or squares.
