The paprika provides us with vitamin A, which can strengthen our sight and make our skin shine beautifully and healthily. Beef provides us with highly digestible iron, which the body needs especially for blood formation.
Depending on how you prefer your goulash, you can also use more paprika in the dish; this way you can also save on beef.

- 400 grams onions
- 2 garlic cloves
- 2 Tomatoes
- 350 grams potatoes
- Bell pepper (1 each red and green)
- 700 grams Beef
- 4 Tbsps clarified butter
- 1 tsp Tomato paste
- 2 Tbsps ground paprika
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 generous pinch Caraway
- salt
- freshly ground peppers
- 1 splash dry Red wine
- 200 grams Whipped cream
Preparation steps
Peel and coarsely chop the onions and garlic. Blanch the tomatoes in boiling water, peel, quar and remove seeds. Peel and dice the potatoes. Rinse the bell peppers, cut in half lengthwise, remove seeds and white ribs, and cut into diamonds.
Heat the clarified butter in a pot set over hight heat. Add the beef and sear until golden brown. Stir the onions, garlic, tomatoes and tomato paste into the pot and simmer over low heat for a few minutes.
Season with the paprika, thyme and caraway. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Add 1 liter (approximately 4 cups) of water to the pot. Cover and simmer over low heat for 2 hours. Paprika, thyme and cumin give. Season well with salt and pepper. All pour in 1 liter of water. The stew simmer over low heat in the closed pot for 2 hours. Add the potatoes and bell peppers to the goulash 30 minutes before the end of the cooking time. Stir in the red wine to taste.
Serve the goulash in deep plates, garnished with the creme fraiche.
