Preparation steps

1.

Ridge flour with whole wheat flour, brown sugar, vanilla sugar, orange zest, salt, almonds and walnuts on work surface. Make a well in the center, add egg and small pieces of butter and chop together (preferably using dough scraper.) Quickly knead into a smooth dough, adding a little flour or cold water as needed. Wrap dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 30 minutes.

2.

Preheat oven to 175°C (approximately 350°F) and line baking sheet with baking paper.

3.

Roll out dough in portions 3-4 mm (approximately 1/8 inch) thin and cut into hearts. Place hearts on lined baking sheet and bake in oven 10-15 minutes until golden brown. Carefully remove plate and let cool on a wire rack.
