- 200 grams sugar
- 200 grams honey
- 100 grams clarified butter
- 200 grams chopped almonds
- 1 tsp ginger
- 1 tsp Cardamom
- 1 tsp cloves
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 50 grams finely crushed Rock candy
- 1 egg
- 600 grams Pastry flour
- 15 grams potatoes
- Ingredients
- 5 Tbsps lukewarm water
- Pastry flour (for rolling)
- 1 egg white
- 60 whole almonds (for decoration)
Preparation steps
1.
Warm sugar, honey and butter together until lukewarm.

Add almonds, spices, rock candy and flour into honey mixture and stir.
3.
Add potash to 3 tablespoons of lukewarm water and mix.
4.
Cover dough and let stand 2 hours.

About 5 tablespoons of warm water to dough and stir until, then roll it out on a floured surface into an about 5 mm (1/5 inch) thick sheet of dough. Cut into rectangles, place on baking sheet, baste with egg white, cover with almonds and bake in preheated oven at 175°C (approximately 350°F) for around 10 to 15 minutes.

Remove from oven and serve or store in a tightly sealed container.
