Preparation steps

1.

Peel the potatoes and cut into small pieces. Just cover with water in a pot, add salt and bring to a boil. Cover and cook about 15 minutes.

2.

Meanwhile, peel, core and dice 3 apples. Rinse the remaining apple, remove seeds and cut into thin wedges.

3.

Peel the onions, cut into rings and dust with flour. Heat 1 tablespoon butter in a pan and cook the onion rings until golden brown. Heat the remaining butter (1 tablespoon) in a second pan and cook bacon and apple slices until lightly browned.

4.

Drain approximately half of the potato cooking water, add the apple cubes to the potatoes, cover and cook for 5-10 minutes until done, when the potatoes and the apple cubes are soft. Drain remaining water, mash potato and apple cubes to "Heaven and Earth" and season with salt and nutmeg. Distribute "Heaven and Earth" on plates and top with onion rings, bacon and apple slices.
