2 Limes (juiced)
400 milliliters sweet white wine
2 Oranges (juiced)
1 Orange (finely grated)
1 pinch Saffron
12 small ripe Pear
2 Tbsps sugar

Preparation steps

Peel and de-stalk the pears. Immediately drizzle with lime juice. Dissolve the sugar in a little water and add the saffron. Simmer for 1 - 2 minutes over low heat.

Pour in the wine, orange juice and grated orange peel. Add the pears and cover. Simmer for about 10 minutes until the pears are soft but don't disintegrate. Occasionally drizzle with the liquid.

Arrange the pears on plates and serve with the sauce.
